TechnoShow is Coming Back with a Bang!!

OVERVIEW: Participants will use any programming language to develop an E-rated, school appropriate that focuses on the subject of their choice while incorporating the theme given for the competition. The project should run smoothly, and show thought and planning of coding. Submitted games should also be intellectually challenging.

2D & 3D Games, Apps, Artificial Intelligence

Teams: Minimum of two participants or maximum of four participants per team.

Evaluation Criteria: Evaluation is based on the project’s aesthetics, flow, story, content, sound, characters and the complexity of coding. The project should also be entertaining and bring the user into the project. Up to 5 bonus points may be added by the judges for exceptional features, or for content showing exemplary educational or social value.

Judging

Below is a sample of the judging criteria.

  • Creativity – How novel is the idea? Does the app make use of a unique mix of technologies?
  • Design – How does the user interaction with the flow?
  • Potential Usefulness – What is the potential impact o? Does it have the potential to effectively help its target audience?
  • Technical Skill – Does the app/game/website make use of well designed data structures? Is the code well organized and commented? Were any advanced features, such as the “any component” blocks used?
  • Presentation (video of 60 second to 100 seconds and supporting materials) – How do the creators present their work? Will viewers get a sense of the importance/effectiveness of the projects?
